Pugs are good dogs for apartment living and will do all right without a yard. They should usually be kept inside at a comfortable temperature, because they cannot withstand extreme hot or cold weather.
Pug Dogs - Adopting a Dog
Before adopting a Pug, it is important to learn a few things about rescue dogs. All rescue Pugs are normally spayed or neutered. There are very few young puppies in shelters. Rescue dogs are mostly adults. Many times the Pugs that are rescued are given up because they were not properly housetrained or have some minor or major medical problems.
You won't find a perfect Pug in a rescue. Though, there are dogs that have proven to have no negative characteristics. They only need your time and attention to adjust to their new situation.
There are rescue organizations that ship Pugs, if it is hard to find a match in your area. Once your application has been received, reviewed, and once an interview is conducted, you can prepare your house for adding a new member to your family. When the adoption application is approved, your rescue representative will notify the person/family that they feel will provide the best home environment for that particular Pug. A contract that specifies certain conditions ought to be signed. In case the placement does not work out, rescue Pugs can be returned.
