Pug Dogs - Exercise Requirements

Pugs enjoy active, energetic games and will also stay much healthier if exercised regularly. However, be careful not to overdo it. The Pug's nature allows it to easily adapt to your way of life. They make perfect couch potatoes or great energetic companions, if you choose. The breed's daily requirements can be confined to roaming and playing in a well-fenced garden. Take your Pug for a walk at least twice a week.

Pug Dogs - Grooming Needs

Pugs' short and smooth coat is easy to groom, but may need little more attention during seasonal shedding. Only bathe your pet when necessary, and make sure to dry him off quickly to prevent chills. The wrinkles on their face should also be cleaned regularly. Owners of Pugs should not worry about grooming expenses, as it is generally a low-maintenance breed.

Eye cleaning is an important part of grooming sessions. Check for excessive discharges from the eyes. Most Pugs need their nails clipped on a regular basis. However, nail clipping may be a problem in Pugs. They have very dark nails, which makes it rather difficult to quickly identify. Take your Pug to a professional groomer or a vet to do the nail clipping, if your pet is not well adjusted to this procedure from early puppyhood. Proper diet and dental care will take care of plaque, pus discharge, and digestive problems in Pugs.
