If you go to a pug sale, you can take pictures of these puppies.
The Willoughby dog was thinner, and its coat came in characteristic ‘smutty’ fawn color because of intermittent black hairs. The Morrison dog was sturdier and chubbier, and it featured apricot-fawn colors. Nowadays, this distinction is much less conspicuous, and the ‘smutty’ color is undesirable.

These dogs arrived in Europe at the end of the 16th century, and they were yet to come a long way towards becoming the breed they are today. In the 1800s there were the Willoughby and the Morrison. They differed in color and shape. If you go to a pug sale, you can take pictures of these puppies.
